For the past 13 years I have been helping people of the Manning Valley with their property needs. There’s nothing more exciting or fullfilling that helping naviagate people through the maze and minefield that is selling and buying property.

In May 2020, in the midst of the global pandemic I made the decision to go out on my own and launched Ivor Thomas Property, partnering with the world’s largest and fastest-growing agent-owned cloud-based Real Estate network EXP Realty.

In all my time in real estate, there were some burning and recurring frustrations that I just couldn’t see a solution to in the traditional real estate office setup.

  1. Why do agents make it so hard for purchasers to be able to buy a property?

    In my observation, most agents do very little to make it easier to purchase a property. Offices have “rules” and “policies” that vary from one office to the next. In most cases this ambiguity and confusion is put down to “in the best interest of the vendor”, but surely a system where buyers are left confused, stressed, disillusioned, and at worst totally ignored can’t possibly be in the seller’s best interest, right?

  2. Seeing sellers choose an agent based on them giving an inflated opinion of their property simply to secure the listing without consideration for the implications.

    I totally understand that sellers want to get as much as possible when selling their home, but “over-pricing” is the one way to guarantee that won’t happen! And to make it worse, the difference financially to the agent is so insignificant that it almost encourages agents to mislead and misrepresent.

Quite simply, “if it doesn’t make sense, we don’t do it”.
